Quarter Horse Regional Challenge Finals at Prairie Meadows Set for August 14-15th
Challenge Championship Berths on the Line
ALTOONA, IA – Experience thrilling Quarter Horse action as top racers compete to qualify for the Challenge Championships on October 17 at The Downs at Albuquerque in the Prairie Meadows Regional Challenge Finals this weekend. An estimated $196,724 in purse money will be awarded in four races on Friday and Saturday and post time is set for 5:00 p.m. both nights.
Hosted by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), the national Racing Challenge features regional stakes races held across North and South America. Winners and top qualifiers of these regional finals advance to compete in the prestigious year-end Challenge Championships held each fall.

The Regional Challenge Finals features four stakes’ races over the two days, including the AQHA Racing Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge – GII (Est. $53,856) on August 14, the Cox Ranch Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge – GIII (Est. $38,148) on August 14, the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge (Est. $56,006) on August 15, and the Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge (Est. $48,714) on August 15.
