Prairie Meadows Moves Monday Race Card to Thursday, July 31 Due to Extreme Heat Conditions

July 28, 2025 – Altoona, IA. Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, & Hotel in collaboration with Iowa HBPA, Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association, Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Association, Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission and AQHA have agreed to move today’s race card to Thursday, July 31 with post time scheduled for 6:00 PM CT due to the extreme heat conditions in the area. Trials for the Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge originally scheduled on Monday, July 28 will now be moved as drawn to Thursday, July 31 with the ten fastest qualifiers competing in the final on Sunday, August 17.
