Prairie Meadows' Jockeys Visit Blank Children's Hospital

September 18 – Altoona, IA. Prairie Meadows’ top Quarter Horse jockeys surprised young patients at Blank Children’s Hospital with a visit on September 13. The jockeys brought along Half Pint, the racetrack’s mascot, as well as fun crafts for the children.

“It was a good visit, and I would do it again tomorrow if we were invited back. I’m glad that we had the opportunity to visit the hospital, meet some of the children there, and tell them a little bit about what we do at the racetrack,” said jockey Justine Klaiber.

The jockeys sported their racing silks during the 1:30pm – 2:30pm visit on Wednesday. Participating jockeys included David Pinon, Josh Romero, Juan Pulido, Justine Klaiber, Raul Gutierrez, and Oscar Delgado.

“I enjoyed visiting the hospital again. It was my second time going to Blank Children’s Hospital and it always makes me happy to be able to put a smile on the faces of these kids,” said Romero.

This was the second year Prairie Meadows’ jockeys visited Blank Children’s Hospital. The visit took place in September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. A
