Prairie Meadows' Board Approves $4 Million for Community Betterment and Youth Sports & Recreational Grants

ALTOONA, IA (July 5, 2022) -- Prairie Meadows’ Board of Directors approved $4 million in grants to 207 nonprofits aligned with its mission to support arts and culture, education, economic development, and human services. Prairie Meadows’ Community Betterment grant program and Youth Sports & Recreational grants work to strengthen and expand opportunities, infrastructure, and services offered within the community.

“We are so proud that we’ve been able to provide much needed support in our community with these
grant dollars,” said Prairie Meadows President/CEO Gary Palmer. “The success of organizations like these are what make our community a remarkable place to live and work. Our goal for these grants is to be a catalyst that sparks change in our community and improves the lives of our neighbors.”

One hundred and eight-nine Community Betterment grants were awarded for a total over $3.4 million. Prairie Meadows Community Betterment grants fund small-to-medium sized projects ranging from $100 to $99,999 for qualified organizations seeking to improve the lives of those in their communities.
