Prairie Meadows Awards $87,500 in Scholarships to Polk County High School Seniors

Altoona, IA – (June 9, 2022) – Prairie Meadows awarded $87,500 in scholarships to 35 Polk County high school seniors to help pay for the Iowa college, university, or trade school of their choice. Prairie Meadows is proud to annually award two $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors at each participating high school in Polk County, and two $2,500 scholarships to their employees or children of employees. Since 2001, more than 774 central Iowa students have received a scholarship from Prairie Meadows.

“Providing financial support to our graduating seniors to help continue their education is one of the most important things we can do to better our community,” said Julie Stewart, Vice President of Community Relations at Prairie Meadows. “Scholarships provide an opportunity for many people to earn an education. Without assistance from an outside source, many students may have trouble paying for the degree they need to enter the workforce and become contributing members of society. Prairie Meadows is proud to assist them as they embark on their new journey.”

In 2022, more than $87,500 in scholarships were awarded through the Prairie Meadows Scholarship Program. As a nonprofit organization, Prairie Meadows strives to promote economic development, jobs, agriculture, and tourism in the state of Iowa. For more information, visit prairiemeadows.com/about-us
