Prairie Meadows and Polk County Board of Supervisors Charitable Giving Partnership Award Grants – 2026 Community Impact Luncheon

Prairie Meadows and the Polk County Board of Supervisors co-hosted the 2026 Community Impact Luncheon on Friday, September 18, at Prairie Meadows’ Meadows Events Center. The luncheon recognized the public-private partnership between Prairie Meadows and Polk County, established in 1989, and celebrated organizations receiving 2026 grant funding from Polk County and Prairie Meadows.

More than three decades ago, Prairie Meadows and Polk County established their public-private partnership to ensure revenue from Prairie Meadows helps lessen the burden on government. Through taxes and charitable contributions, the partnership has helped transform the lives of thousands of Iowans. Since 1996, it has provided more than $2.5 billion to strengthen communities across the state.

“To date, Prairie Meadows’ charitable giving and tax contributions have exceeded $2.5 billion, supporting investments that strengthen communities across Iowa,” said Brian Ohorilko, President and CEO of Prairie Meadows. “We’re proud of the role we play alongside Polk County and our community partners in advancing projects that enhance infrastructure, expand vital services, and create opportunities for Iowans. This partnership demonstrates what we can accomplish when we come together with a shared commitment to building a stronger future for Iowa.”
