Employee Spotlight- Kim
Meet Kim, a talented and dynamic member of the Prairie Meadows team. Kim began her career here in 2022 as a Cashier and has been thriving in her current role as a Banker for the past three months.
Kim’s journey to Prairie Meadows started when she relocated from the South to Iowa. Looking for new opportunities, she came across open interviews at Prairie Meadows. What impressed her the most was how quickly she was introduced to a variety of positions with both part-time and full-time hours. The speed and ease of the hiring process stood out to her—within just a few days, she was fully employed and ready to begin her new exciting career.
What Kim enjoys most about working at Prairie Meadows is the people. She values the diverse group of coworkers and customers and finds it fascinating to learn about the different cultures represented in her workplace. Kim believes her experience here has allowed her to grow both personally and professionally, giving her the chance to explore new opportunities in the workforce. Prior to joining Prairie Meadows, Kim worked in the travel industry and ran a pet-sitting business. She also serves as a life coach and mentor for women. Her time here and taking on something completely new to her has broadened her skill sets and perspective, enriching both her career and her life.
One aspect of Prairie Meadows that Kim finds especially unique is the combination of horse racing and a casino, which creates a multifaceted environment unlike any other place she’s worked. She appreciates how Prairie Meadows not only offers exciting career opportunities but also makes a positive impact by giving back to the community.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys a creative life. She loves doing arts and crafts, quilting, and creating tangle art. A fun fact about Kim is she has a rescue dog who has been by her side through many travels and moves over the years.
