Where do I go for my interview?
The location of your interview varies, depending on the position you are interviewing for. Your contact should inform you of when and where to meet. If you are unsure of where to go, visit the Human Resources office located on Level 1.
How long before I hear back after my interview?
Response time varies, but typically you will hear back in one to three weeks.
If I am applying, or have applied, via a third party website (such as Indeed.com) do I still need to fill out an application on prairiemeadows.com?
Yes. In order to be considered for a position, you must complete and submit an application through our careers page.
Are uniforms provided?
Multiple uniforms will be provided on the first day of employment to those that are required to wear a uniform. Additional uniforms can be received once you have been employed for 90 days.
Do I have to be a certain age to work at Prairie Meadows?
Most positions require you to be 18 or older, but to work as a server assistant at our restaurants, Triple Crown Buffet and Champions, you only have to be 16 or older.
What are some employee perks offered by Prairie Meadows?
Prairie Meadows’ employees can enjoy discounts to local events and businesses such as Adventureland Park, Blank Park Zoo, and the Iowa State Fair.
When do employees become eligible for vacation, sick time, benefits, etc.?
Most full-time employees become eligible after six months of employment, but this varies by position and department. Part-time employees are not eligible for vacation, sick time, or benefits. However, part-time employees may request time off.
Does Prairie Meadows offer a 401K plan?
All Prairie Meadows employees are offered a 401K plan with a company match for employees who meet eligibility criteria. For more information, ask one of our Human Resources representatives.
Does Prairie Meadows offer tuition reimbursement?
Yes, full-time employees can participate in our tuition reimbursement program. Employees can receive up to $5,250 per calendar year. Some restrictions may apply. Speak with a Human Resources representative for more information.
How often would I get paid?
All employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis.
Can employees gamble?
Gambling restrictions depend on department and position held. Employees are not allowed to play any table games at Prairie Meadows. All employees are also ineligible to participate in our loyalty program, Prairie Gold Rewards.
What kind of training does Prairie Meadows provide to help with advancement?
We offer computer/software classes through our IT Department as well as leadership development courses. We also have Prairie Meadows University, a company succession program. Prairie Meadows also offers training in the form of our free dealer school. Everyone offered a table games dealer position must complete this training prior to employment.
