Prairie Meadows 2011 Legacy Grant Program

LEGACY GRANT PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Through the Legacy Grant Program, Prairie Meadows supports a limited number of large-scale, signature projects in the central Iowa area. The Legacy Grant Program is designed to provide funding in the range of $100,000 to $1 million for larger scale projects.

Because funds are limited, Prairie Meadows is unable to act favorably on all applications received. Each application is carefully evaluated on overall community impact, compliance with Prairie Meadows guidelines and availability of funds.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be non-profit, tax-exempt organizations that have received a 501(c)(3) or 501 (c)(4) designation from the Internal Revenue Service or must be a unit of political subdivisions or other such non-profit organizations organized exclusively for the promotion of social welfare as determined by Prairie Meadows at its sole discretion.

Organizations whose IRS tax exempt status is pending approval are not eligible to apply for funding from Prairie Meadows.

Organizations wishing to apply for a Prairie Meadows Legacy grant must be located in Polk, Boone, Story, Jasper, Warren, and Dallas counties.

Applications for funding may only be for infrastructure and brick and mortar projects.

Organizations may submit only one Legacy Grant application per year.  Organizations may not submit grant applications to both the Legacy Grant and Community Betterment Grant programs for the same project.

Prairie Meadows accepts Legacy Grant applications in the range of $100,000 to $1 million.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The deadline to submit a Prairie Meadows 2011 Legacy Grant is October 1, 2011 at 5:00pm. All applications must be submitted via the Prairie Meadows Online Application Server. No exceptions will be made. Any applications received after 5:00pm on October 1, 2011 will not be accepted.

GRANT REVIEW TIMELINE

The Prairie Meadows Board of Directors will review all eligible 2011 Legacy Grant Applications. and will make recommendations based on available funding at its December 2011 meeting.
